Men on the Memorials Exhibition
DON’T MISS our centenary Men on the Memorials Exhibition that has been put together with the help of many local people.

The exhibition marks the end of the 1st World War on November 11 1918. It is a one-off opportunity to find out about the 37 local men who died from our six local parishes of Fawcett Forest, Longsleddale, Patton, Scalthwaiterigg, Selside and Skelsmergh and about what was happening here a century ago.

This is a free exhibition and will be in Skelsmergh Community Hall and Skelsmergh church on Saturday Nov 10 and Sunday Nov 11 from 10-4. Refreshments will be available throughout the weekend.

As well as the exhibition look out for:

  • Friday Nov 9 at 6.30pm students from Selside school will give a Remembrance themed concert in Skelsmergh church. The exhibition will be open from 5.30pm in the Community Hall opposite.
  • Sunday Nov 11 10 am Skelsmergh Church Service of Commemoration
  • Sunday Nov 11 10.30 am Longsleddale Church Remembrance Service
  • Sunday Nov 11 6pm Selside Church Service of Commemoration & Thanksgiving
On Sunday Nov 11 the Bryce Street Strummers will be at the exhibition from 3pm to provide a rousing climax to our centenary commemorative weekend.
